Lava Glass is the latest tourist attraction
and "Hot Spot" to come to Taupo.
Lava Glass is a Glass Blowing Studio with Gallery and Café. The
café serves morning tea, lunch and afternoon teas.
You can view the glass blowing process by glass artists and
see bowls, stopper bottles, vases, spiral bottles, galactic
bowls, paper weights, pillar platters and more being made.

Aratiatia Rapids |
Water from
the Aratiatia Hydro Station is released down the rapids
several times each day. A road bridge, tracks and
viewing platforms provide excellent vantage points.

Mt Tauhara |
Mt Tauhara is a dormant volcano 1088 metres high, on the
east side of Taupo's township. The mountain has tracks
to the top through native bush. There are helicopter
flights to the top and guided tours are available. |
Huka Falls River Cruise |
Cruise on the "Maid of The
Falls" along the pristine waters of the Waikato
River. Go right to the base of the mighty Huka Falls,
see birdlife, natural hot streams, and the Wairakei
geothermal power station. |

Te Moana
Fishing Charters with Gus Te Moana
Fishing for fighting rainbow trout
and sightseeing by boat are two of the best "Hot Spot"
adventures on Lake Taupo.
Gus Te Moana was born at Waihi on
the southern shores of Lake Taupo. He has fished Lake Taupo and
its many tributaries all of his life and he has a wealth of
local knowledge.

Trout Fishing Tour for Fighting Rainbows:
Enjoy trout fishing from the comfort of “Te Arani II", with all
your fishing tackle provided. A fantastic experience for
novices as well as for experienced anglers.
- Harling with an artificial fly (preferred fishing method) - hold
your rod and your guide will provide full instruction about how
to catch your fish. Harling with a fly rod is great fun and the
method catches a lot of fish.
- Downrigging and Leadlining with a lure - all you have to do is
just sit and wait for your fish to strike. Deep fishing with
lures can be most productive during the heat of the day.
Hireage is for boat with Guide and 1-6 passengers. Three hour
trips (or longer) are recommended and can include Motutaiko
Island, the White Cliffs, and Horomatangi Reef.

$110.00 per hour - summer (October 1 to April 30).

| Sightseeing Tour on Lake Taupo:
See Taupo Township and scenic highlights from out on the Great
Lake. Visit Acacia Bay, Rangatira Point, and the Maori rock
carvings at Mine Bay. The carvings are over 10 metres high and
are only accessible by boat. A 2 hour minimum applies. Longer
trips can include Motutaiko Island.
Hireage is for boat with Guide and 1- 6 passengers. Price: $130.00

Overnight Charter:
Visit Taupo's Western Bays for an overnight charter. Sleep on
the boat, or sleep on the beach, or experience a Marae stay.
The Western Bays are only accessible by boat and the fly fishing
at the Waihora, Waihaha, and Whanganui river mouths is
legendary.
